Frequently asked questions
Questions, answered
A few things people often ask before reaching out. If your question isn’t here, the quickest path is to start a conversation on Headway.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No. I see clients exclusively through secure video (telehealth), so you can meet from anywhere in Massachusetts. Virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person for most concerns, and it removes the commute, the waiting room, and a lot of scheduling friction.
What insurance do you accept?
I'm in-network with Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna through Headway. When you book through my Headway profile, your benefits are verified up front so you know what to expect before your first session.
How much does therapy cost?
If you use one of the insurance plans I accept, your cost is typically your plan's copay or coinsurance, which Headway confirms when you book. Because plans differ, the most accurate estimate comes from Headway's verification during scheduling.
How do I book a first appointment?
Booking happens on my Headway profile, where you can verify your insurance, see real-time availability, and schedule a first virtual session. There's no form to fill out on this website — the Headway link is the fastest way to get started.
What is an LMHC?
LMHC stands for Licensed Mental Health Counselor. It's a master's-level clinician licensed by the state — in my case, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts — to provide psychotherapy. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University.
Who do you work with?
I provide individual therapy for young adults, adults, and seniors in Massachusetts. People come to me for anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, trauma, stress, life transitions, and more. Sessions are conducted in English.
What kind of therapy do you practice?
My care is client-centered, strength-based, and trauma-informed. Depending on what fits you, I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, somatic and attachment-based approaches, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and more. We tailor the approach to you rather than fitting you to a method.
Do I have to be in crisis to start therapy?
Not at all. Many people begin therapy while functioning well in daily life but wanting support with stress, relationships, self-understanding, or a transition. Reaching out early is a strength. If you are in an emergency, please use the crisis resources listed at the bottom of every page.
Do I need to live in Massachusetts to see you?
Yes. Because I'm licensed in Massachusetts, you generally need to be physically located in Massachusetts during our sessions, even though they're held over video.
